Mr. HSU, Chin-Ming

Serving others vigorously in the workplace, at home
and in the community

Teacher Chin-Ming Hsu grew up in a deprived environment. Since
he was an elementary school student, he decided to help his elder
brother by working at his factory. He grew up in a happy family, where
his siblings supported each other very much. Teacher Hsu discontinued
his high school education, and started working in his teens. He was a
responsible person and did his best in the workplace, and no matter
how tired he felt, he always completed his work before going home.
In his leisure time, playing Chinese chess and being with his pets were
his loves. Teacher Hsu didn’t say much and wasn’t good at expressing
himself, yet in the eyes of his children, he taught them kindness and
principles. Since joining Tzu Chi, Teacher Hsu volunteered to serve
the needy and worked at a recycling station. When the time came, he
decided to leave the legacy of love and become our Silent Mentor.
