Mr. SHEN, Kuang-Sheng

Facing challenges courageously and taking good care
of his family

Teacher Kuang-Sheng Shen came to Taiwan with his military unit,
when he was only sixteen years old. He took part in battles in Vietnam,
Thailand, Korea and South America. During the 1958 Taiwan Strait
crisis, Teacher Shen made a special contribution and was awarded a
medal. After his wife had passed, he gave up promotion opportunities
in order to spend more time with his children. In the 1980s, while
visiting his hometown in China, Teacher Shen met a lady there and
later married her. The couple loved each other, didn’t care much about
material enjoyment, and so they maintained a happy marriage for thirty
years. Teacher Shen went through numerous battles and hardships,
but never lost confidence in the kindness and compassion of humanity,
and therefore decided to give of himself, wishing those in need could
receive high-quality healthcare.
