Mrs. LIN YEH, Luan-Feng
Overcoming challenges by working closely with her
family
Teacher Luan-Feng Lin Yeh learned from her mother and became
a hardworking person who stood firmly behind her husband. With
her gentleness and intelligence, she operated a successful hair salon
business and also served as a well-liked matchmaker. For a period of
time, her husband indulged in gambling and was in debt. To repay
his debt and prevent the family from falling apart, Teacher Lin Yeh
worked with her husband and three children, selling plastic products
and hardware at the night market. In addition to caring for her family,
Teacher Lin Yeh was a Tzu Chi volunteer and invited her husband to
join. After her husband heard Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s teaching
that “we are so fortunate, but we may not know it,” he realized how
lucky he was, and after that, he changed greatly. The couple served
others energetically as Tzu Chi volunteers, and decided to give of
themselves after passing. Teacher Lin Yeh has fulfilled her wish to serve
others after her passing, as a Silent Mentor. 11
