Working with her children and students for their long-
term goals
Teacher Shu-Hui Tsai was the youngest daughter in her family. She
asked highly of herself and set high standards for her children and
students; meanwhile, she always answered the calls of her relatives or
friends. She guided her children, with principles, to interact kindly with
others. As a piano teacher, Teacher Tsai asked highly of her students
and did her best for them. As a result, many students made remarkable
achievements. Other than being with her family and students, Teacher
Tsai enjoyed traveling with her friends and accompanied her friends
to face their hardships. In 2016, she became a Tzu Chi volunteer and
served needy people regularly. Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s teaching
that “We don’t own our lives, and instead, we have a right to make the
best use of them” inspired Teacher Tsai to give of herself for medical
education, wishing to enhance our skills and compassion, so that we
can take good care of our patients.
